You need to give a gift to someone who has everything you think of. You
think of playful toys to go along with the
hobbies they already do. But they have bought
or been given everything you find. You think
of new hobbies they might enjoy but find they
did them years ago. You have the money to
spend. The problem is just trying to find
something they would enjoy to spend it on.
This is frequently the case with Moms and Dads, with that sister who has
traveled all over the world, that aunt who
lives life to its fullest. You are glad they
have so much in their lives but it does leave
you in a dilemma as to what gift will please
them.
We have a few suggestions that might just be the right item. Some of
these items require a little or a lot of work
on your part. Some of them require a bit of
research or digging through some old photos
but this effort will provide a unique gift
from you.
-
Provide a coupon for a day at a spa for the works. To
make it more enjoyable, accompany them and
go for lunch afterwards.
-
Find a picture of the two of you and have it custom
framed.
-
If they have a favorite pet, take a picture of the
pet and have it needle pointed into a pillow
cover to display on their couch.
-
If they love to ski, get a gift certificate for a week
at a ski resort.
-
Sketch a picture of their lakeside cabin and have it
framed. If you can't sketch, take a picture down to a
local artist.
-
Find a memento from their college or fraternity/sorority.
Their college will have paperweights, coffee mugs,
pens, etc.
-
Find a picture of
their beloved dog or other pet they had as a
youngster. Sculpt the animal or have a
local artist do it. This remembrance of
love will sit proudly on their desk.
-
If they are out
golfing every Saturday morning, get a gift
certificate to a famous golf resort.
Whether a weekend or a week, they will love
knocking around the ball at this resort.
-
Do a watercolor of his
sailboat. Find an old photo or take a
picture of it in dock. Then paint away. Or
find a local artist who can do the trick.
-
Host a part of 20 of his/her closest friends.
Invite them to a beach or mountain resort.
-
Purchase or rent a
snow cone machine and have a snow cone party
in your back yard.
-
For someone who is
adventurous, give them a week on a Montana
Cattle Drive.
-
Order a custom
hourglass and instead of sand use diamond
dust to filter through.
-
Reserve a place on a
sandy beach and have a lobster steaming or
clam bake.
-
For someone who has a
pool, order a remote controlled sailing
yacht. He can sun by the pool and still go
sailing.
-
Call the
International Star Registry and have a star
named after the recipient. They will
receive a certificate of their named star in
the mail.
-
For someone who pays
attention to their horoscope, have their
astrological sign made into a pin which is
inlaid with diamonds.
-
Find a local song
writer and have them create a song just for
the recipient.
-
Make a donation to
their favorite charity and have the charity
send them a card about your donation.
-
Subscribe them to a
business newsletter. Check the Internet for
the newest ones.
-
For someone who is
too busy to leave her office for lunch most
days, give a gift certificate from a nearby
caterer, carry out or restaurant with
delivery service.
-
Find a rose nursery
that grafts their own roses. Have them name
a rose in the recipient's name and honor.
