I
am getting married this summer. What gifts am I supposed
to think of?
The groom is expected to purchase gifts for the
attendants on behalf of the couple. It is not generally
expected that great expense is incurred in the purchase
of these gifts, but thought should be given to buying
something that will last and give the attendant a
pleasant memory for years to come.
Here are some suggestions: a picture frame or
candleholder for the bridesmaids, cufflinks for the best
man and ushers, a small snack basket for relatives in
their hotel room, a nice basket in the ladies room with
extra stockings, medical remedies, Tylenol, Pepto,
breath mints, hair spray, toothbrushes, toothpaste,
floss, clear nail polish, sewing kit, brush, comb, pick,
chocolates, spring water...pretty much the never thought
of things that could come in handy....

One
the best ways to celebrate Mother's Day is to give her
the day off. Let her take it easy and relax while the
rest of the family does the work.
Many families begin Mother's Day with breakfast in bed.
Usually Dad and the Kids will let mom sleep late as they
go into the kitchen and prepare her favorite meal. A
Mother's Day breakfast can consist of anything your mom
likes.
After the food is cooked, arrange everything nicely on a
tray. With spring here, the children can pick a tulip or
daffodil from the garden outside, to place next to her
food on the tray . When everything is ready, carefully
carry the tray and mom's favorite sections from the
newspaper up to her bedroom. Cards and small presents
from the children can be placed on the tray before it is
presented to mom in bed. Many Families make a special
Mother's Day dinner or take mom out to her favorite
restaurant for a meal. And at the end of the day,
surprise her with a relaxing gift basket, or a chocolate
lover's basket to enjoy before she goes to bed.
It is a good day to let your mom relax and let her see
what a wonderful family she has.
